Dow Chemical studies expanding its facilities in Tarragona

Dow Chemical is considering expanding its facilities in Tarragona “if the market responds as it is responding in the last years”, Anton Valero, president of Dow Chemical Ibérica, assured.

Dow Chemical invested more than 11 million euros last year in maintenance improvements and in the shutdown processes of its plants in Spain and Portugal.

74% of Dow Chemical’s production in Spain is destined for export, while in Portugal, this percentage reaches 90%.

The Dow Chemical industrial complex in Tarragona produces olefins, ethylene derivatives, cracker and octene are made, and is a unique plant in the world for the innovative production process.
