Repsol invests 26 million to improve the production of propylene

Repsol’s cracker in Tarragona is expanded with a new distillation column to separate propane and propylene.

Until last November, a quarter of the production of propylene produced by Repsol’s olefins plant in Tarragona remained at a second level of quality, which forced to sell it at a lower price.
An investment of 26 million euros in a new propane-propylene distillation column has allowed REPSOL to achieve a significant qualitative leap, producing a top quality product with a 99,6% purity polymer grade.
