Spanish energy dependence grows significantly in the first half of 2017

Historical maximum of imports. Spain has imported from foreign countries, between January 1 and June 30, 2017, goods worth 151,963 million euros. Even before the crisis broke out – in 2008 – Spain imported so much.

Imports in this semester have grown 11.8% compared to the same period of last year. Of course, among all the imports, the ones that have grown the most during the first half of the year have been those of energy products.

Between January 1 and June 30, Spain has paid for energy products – oil, coal, gas – 51.7% more than in the same period of the previous year.
