Years ago, we implemented a KPI-driven system to analyze every port call, identifying inefficiencies and opportunities to minimize vessel turnaround times. By streamlining operations, we not only improve performance, but also significantly reduce emissions linked to prolonged port stays aligning decarbonization with operational excellence.
Measurable efficiency: -86% emissions
This figure reflects a real case handled by Ibérica Marítima in the Port of Barcelona. Through efficient coordination, we reduced the vessel’s anchorage waiting time from 7 days to 1. As a result, we prevented the release of 15 tons of CO₂, achieving an 86% reduction compared to the original operational plan.
